This is a drama that attempts to remedy regret with joyful reunion. Jon Schneider shines as this film's well rounded charmer, fix-it man, and long lost father to a small town bride. The film has all of the appeal of small town life with none of the typical stereotypes; the film's greatest strength is the well developed characters, all of whom connect immediately with the audience, welcoming the viewer(s) into the classy little setting. Some may find the redundant dance scenes (and other aspects) overtly cheesy, however, you may just find yourself liking the characters despite the cliches. While the dialogue is not terribly innovative, the moral of owning up to one's mistakes, as opposed to blindly defending them, is indeed novel. And while the movie cannot be touted as one which entirely espouses traditional family values, the lesson learned and heartache which results from abandoning such create the potential for teaching opportunities that will prove to be healthy for everyone in the family.
